Application Guide & Thermal Physics
Surface Preparation & Method
Surface Preparation
Remove all dirt, dust, grease, and efflorescence. Completely strip away any existing oil-based, acrylic, or peeling latex paints. The substrate must be bare and absorbent.
Method of Application
Agitate the paint well before use. Do not thin with water. Always work “wet-in-wet” to avoid lap marks and wait a minimum of 12 hours before applying the next coat.
Crucial Warning
Protect all adjacent non-paintable surfaces, especially glass, ceramic, and metal, as liquid silicate can permanently etch these materials. Do not apply in direct sunlight or if heavy moisture is expected within 24 hours.
Substrate Compatibility & Thermal Synchronization
Compatible Surfaces
Concrete, cement plaster, lime plaster, brickwork, natural stone, fly ash bricks, rice husk ash-blended cement boards, and unpainted stucco.
Incompatible Surfaces
Wood, plastics, metal, oil-based enamels, synthetic resin plasters, gloss coatings, and wallpaper.
Thermal Synchronization
Unlike plastic films that tear and blister under thermal stress, PureSil fuses directly with the substrate, sharing the exact coefficient of thermal expansion. It moves, expands, and contracts perfectly in sync with the building.
The Chemistry of Silicification & Sequestration
The Silicification Reaction
The RHA silicate binder reacts with the free calcium hydroxide inherent in concrete. This two-part reaction (M₂O · nSiO₂ + Ca(OH)₂ → CaO · SiO₂ · H₂O + 2MOH) precipitates a silica network (where M is alkali earth metal), embedding the paint directly into the mineral substrate.
Pozzolanic Reactivity
The upcycled industrial waste in our formulation is chemically active. The calcium hydroxide within the fly ash and RHA actively absorbs atmospheric carbon dioxide to form calcium carbonate (Ca(OH)₂ + CO₂ → CaCO₃ + H₂O), strengthening the petrified matrix.
Active Carbon Sequestration
The exact curing reaction (M₂O · 3SiO₂ + CO₂ → M₂CO₃ + 3SiO₂) proves that the wet paint actively draws CO₂ out of the ambient air as a hardener (where M is alkali earth metal). A single coat actively sequesters approximately 3.5 grams of CO₂ per square meter.
The Comprehensive Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)
Phase 01
Cradle-to-Gate
By utilizing a “zero-burden” allocation for upcycled fly ash and RHA, we displace energy-heavy mined minerals. PureSil requires ~1.2 kg CO₂e per kg of wet paint, compared to ~3.0 kg CO₂e for conventional acrylics. Furthermore, our manufacturing wastewater contains zero synthetic plastics, carrying effectively zero Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD).
Phase 02
Application
Zero off-gassing of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs). The application emits absolutely zero fugitive emissions into the atmosphere.
Phase 03
20-Year Functional Unit
Unaffected by UV degradation and highly breathable, PureSil achieves a 20-year functional lifespan with a single application, eliminating the costly 7-year repainting cycles required by acrylics.
Phase 04
End of Life & Circularity
PureSil prevents aquatic ecotoxicity. It sheds zero microplastics or biocides into stormwater. When demolished, the 100% mineral-coated concrete can be seamlessly recycled into new concrete mixes without plastic contamination.

The Environmental Calculator & Macro Impact
If India’s 88 billion square meters of paintable building space were coated in our mineral formulation exactly once, the built environment would actively sequester 308,000 metric tons of CO₂ — equivalent to taking 68,000 gasoline-powered cars off the road for an entire year.
Elevating Green Building Standards (IGBC & LEED)
Earning Your IGBC & LEED Credits
-
Materials and Resources (MR): By incorporating upcycled fly ash and RHA, PureSil qualifies for “Pre-Consumer Recycled Content.” Sourcing within a strict radius contributes heavily to Regional Materials credits.
-
Indoor Environmental Quality (EQ): The water-based formulation easily clears the most stringent global VOC thresholds (SCAQMD Rule 1113).
-
Sustainable Sites (SS) & Heat Island Reduction: The crystalline silicate structure and inorganic pigments offer excellent Solar Reflectance Index (SRI) values, lowering the urban heat island effect and reducing a building’s HVAC cooling loads.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What makes PURESIL™ different from regular acrylic paint?
Unlike acrylics that form a plastic film on your walls, PURESIL™ utilizes inorganic RHA silicate chemistry to chemically bond with masonry surfaces, providing unmatched durability that will not peel or blister.
Are PURESIL™ paints eco-friendly?
Yes, they are 100% free of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and synthetic microplastics. Furthermore, the paint actively sequesters carbon dioxide from the atmosphere during its curing phase.
Can I apply PURESIL™ over existing old paint?
Because it requires a chemical bond (silicification), old oil-based or acrylic paints must be completely stripped away first. The substrate must be bare and absorbent.
How long does a PURESIL™ coating last?
Thanks to its natural mineral pigments and chemical bonding, PURESIL™ offers exceptional UV resistance and can easily last 20+ years on a properly prepared facade without recoating.
Do PURESIL™ paints allow walls to breathe?
Absolutely. They are highly vapor-permeable, which allows trapped moisture in your masonry to escape naturally without damaging the structure or the paint.
Does it prevent mold and algae?
Yes, the silicate binder is naturally highly alkaline (pH ~11), creating an environment that actively resists the growth of mold, mildew, and algae without needing toxic biocides.
Is color customization available?
We offer a robust collection of timeless and elegant colors using mineral pigments. Complete color customization is available for bulk orders exceeding 5,000 liters.
Can I wash my walls after painting with PURESIL™?
Yes, once fully cured, the micro-crystalline bond creates a highly durable, petrified surface that can be washed and maintained without wearing down the color.
What is the coverage area for these paints?
Practical coverage is 74 sq.ft per liter. Coverage largely depends on the porosity of your substrate.
